That deserves a closer look: The recently announced partnership between Axxam S.p.A., a leading provider of integrated early discovery services, and Molecular Health GmbH, a pioneer in AI-powered data solutions for pharmaceutical R&D, is more than a standard collaboration. It exemplifies the convergence of consolidated in-vitro biology-led drug discovery with modern, data-intelligent drug development methodologies. As an example for breaking the silos of clinical and preclinical target validation.

At the heart of the Rhine-Neckar region, life – the biomedical convention unites global pharma leaders, outstanding research institutes, innovative SMEs and an ever-growing start-up scene – a powerful breeding ground for translating science into impact.

Orchestrated by the bioRN Life Science Cluster, the regional innovation hub driving collaboration and translation, life 2026 showcases cutting-edge biomedical research and pioneering business models to an audience of more than 500 scientists, entrepreneurs, innovators, and industry leaders from across Germany and neighbouring countries.

This year’s expanded programme features two thematic tracks:
Synthetic Biology for Life Science Applications – with keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Kerstin Göpfrich (Heidelberg University) unveiling the promise of RNA origami for evolvable synthetic cells, alongside leading experts such as Prof. Dr. Hendrik Dietz (TUM) and PD Dr. Dr. Lukas Bunse (University Hospital Mannheim & DKFZ).

Regional Innovation Spotlights – chaired by Dr. Gitte Neubauer, highlighting breakthrough technologies and entrepreneurial success stories from one of Europe’s most dynamic life science regions.

A new highlight in 2026 is the International Investors Panel, which explores how smart capital and collaborative financing models can accelerate the next generation of biotech innovation — from early discovery to market-ready solutions. The session connects financial expertise, entrepreneurship, and ecosystem insight to foster sustainable innovation across Europe.

Add to that the Young Scientists’ Pitch Competition, vibrant networking sessions, and a lively exhibition area featuring 30+ companies – and you have a one-day convention that bridges science, entrepreneurship, and innovation like no other.
Join us on 4 February 2026 at the Heidelberg Congress Center and experience how the Rhine-Neckar region continues to set European benchmarks for innovation, collaboration, and translational excellence.
