GSK has linked its chronic hepatitis B drug candidate to a 19% functional cure rate across a pair of Phase III trials, clearing the bar it set for clinical relevance.

Yet Lilly’s ambitions extend well beyond classical infectious disease markets, targeting areas ranging from autoimmune disorders and antimicrobial resistance to chronic immune dysfunction and even cancer.
Synairgen plc (SNG) has announced the successful completion of a £18m funding round, primarily supported by TFG Asset Management. The funding will advance the Phase 2 INVENT trial, assessing SNG001, an inhaled formulation of the antiviral protein interferon beta, in mechanically ventilated patients with severe viral lung infections.
