Finnish clinical stage biotech TenBoron Oy has landed a €7.6m grant from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Health 2025 programme. The funding will propel its boron carrier platform for a novel targeted radiotherapy into larger clinical trials for cancers with few remaining treatment options.

UK biotech Mestag Therapeutics has raised $40 million and appointed veteran drug developers Lindsey Rolfe as chief medical officer and Pascal Merchiers as chief development officer, as the company prepares to start its first clinical trial in cancer in mid-2026. The new financing brings total capital committed to the Cambridge-based company to more than $95 million, following its $11 million launch round in April 2021 and a seed extension that took total seed financing to $45 million in August 2021.

Aerska series A

Aerska, a biotechnology company focused on RNA medicines for brain diseases, has raised €32 million in a Series A financing to advance its lead technology toward clinical development. The round was co-led by EQT Life Sciences through its LSP Dementia Fund, alongside age1, and brings the company’s total funding to €50 million since its seed round in October 2025.

The transatlantic venture firm Epidarex Capital has reached a first close of more than $145 million (approximately €121.6 million) to focus on company creation and early-stage investments across the UK and the US.

4 years after its initial series A round, Engitix has completed a $25 million series A extension, led by Netherton Investments, which invests on behalf of billionaire hedge fund founder Mike Platt. The London-based biotech is developing therapies that target the extracellular matrix (ECM) in solid tumors and fibrosis, an area less crowded than more established drug discovery approaches.
