Turn bioprocess data into timely, transferable process control

In upstream bioprocessing, process information is most useful when teams can act on it during the process. The Eppendorf Bioprocess Autosampler integrated with the Nova Biomedical BioProfile® FLEX2 cell culture analyzer brings sampling, at-line analysis, and feedback control together. By connecting sampling, analysis, and process control, this solution helps teams move from collecting data to using it for timely process decisions.

An integrated workflow from sample to response

DASware® control bioprocess control software manages all workflow steps, including process monitoring and feedback control, sampling schedules, analyzer availability, feedback control, and data storage. At scheduled time points, the Bioprocess Autosampler collects a sample from a selected vessel and transfers it to the BioProfile FLEX2 for analysis. Results are returned to DASware control and can be used in configured feedback loops. This gives teams a way to monitor process changes and respond while the run is in progress, rather than relying only on post-run review.

The integrated workflow can help teams to:

  • Automate sample collection and transfer for at-line analysis
  • Reduce manual data transfers between software systems
  • Standardize monitoring and control strategies across compatible platforms and scales
  • Make process data available for analysis and informed decisions

Data can also be automatically transferred to BioNsight® cloud software, where teams can review results across runs, sites, and scales. For example, at-line data from a running process can be compared with a golden batch without manual transfer between software systems. This supports collaboration and helps make accumulated process data more accessible for analysis.

Flexible automation across bench-scale systems

Depending on the controller, the Bioprocess Autosampler can handle up to 16 glass or single-use bioreactors with working volumes from 250 mL to 10 L. It is compatible with the DASbox® Mini Bioreactor System, DASGIP® Parallel Bioreactor System, SciVario® twin, BioFlo® 320, and BioFlo 320 plus controllers. Aseptic operation is possible without a sterile hood, and the system can be installed with new equipment or retrofitted to existing systems.

The Autosampler also supports transfer to sample storage or an external analyzer, bolus addition, and inoculation. With DASware control coordinating sampling and analyzer integration the workflow can help simplify setup and reduce integration risks. Together, these capabilities support more accessible, data-driven process control and can help teams carry consistent workflows from process development through scale-up and technology transfer.
