Denmark’s Novo Nordisk has signed a collaboration with Boston-based Vivtex Corporation to develop next-generation oral biologic medicines for obesity, diabetes and associated metabolic diseases. Vivtex is eligible to receive upfront payments, research funding and milestone payments totalling up to $2.1 billion (approximately €1.78bn), as well as tiered royalties on net sales of any resulting products.
The US Roche unit Genentech Inc has signed a US$400 million licence deal with British NativeMS specialist OMass Therapeutics Ltd. Under the exclusive collaboration and licence agreement, Genentech intends to commercialise therapies for inflammatory bowel disease.

Belgian lysosomal storage disease specialist Azafaros BV has added a new lead investor to its portfolio. In addition to €25m Series A leader Forbion, Jeito Captial co-led a €132m Series B round aimed at advancing two pivotal trials of Azafaros‘ lead compound nizabagloustat (AZ-3102).
