Startup Labs at the Vienna BioCenter

The Vienna Business Agency has set up affordable and flexible Startup Labs at the Vienna BioCenter. This will speed up the evaluation and implementation of new business ideas in biotechnology by the next coming generation of bio-entrepreneurs. Key assets include close proximity to outstanding academic research and highly successful innovators as well as access to cutting-edge research infrastructure.

Vienna is one of Europe’s leading metropoles for biotech start-ups. Excellent academic education and research, strong regional sites by global players such as Boehringer Ingelheim, Octa-pharma, Pfizer and Takeda and world-renowned hospitals are key ingredients in the Austrian recipe of success. Proven funding programs such as PreSeed and Seedfinancing by the Austrian promotional bank Austria Wirtschaftsservice, experienced investment management teams at federal and regional level, and a research tax premium of 14% are additional ingredients. The Vienna Business Agency is now offering new co-working labs to facilitate start-up processes.
