Experienced CEO appointed
Lori A. Ball has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of UK-based Astoriom. She will be responsible for driving the development of Astoriom's sample management business in the US, UK and Europe.
Rochedale-based Astoriom, a sample stability and biosample storage company, has a new CEO. Lori A. Ball took over the position in July. The news follows the acquisition of the company by private equity firm Limerston Capital in January this year. The acquisition also saw the renaming of Source BioScience to Astoriom.
Ball brings many years of industry and leadership experience in global sample management and life science research and development. She also has extensive knowledge of business strategy and growth, mergers and acquisitions and leadership development.
Prior to joining Astoriom, Lori Ball was President and CEO of StageBio, a provider of preclinical and clinical histology, pathology, image analysis and sample archiving services to the biopharmaceutical, medical device and contract research industries. In addition, Ball was COO at BioIVT and President and COO at BioStorage Technologies, Inc. now Azenta. She also served as Global Head of Sales, Supply Chain Operations and Commercial Operations for Covance Central Laboratories (acquired by Labcorp).
Astoriom is headquartered in Rochdale in the UK and has additional locations in Ireland and the USA.
