BenevolentBio: Robot work

BenevolentAI has hired a Chief Medical Officer – making it the first artificial intelligence company to do so. Patrick Keohane will take up position of CMO at BenevolentBio. The subsidiary of BenevolentAI aims to apply its AI to develop meds, and plans to find other uses for AI in bioscience as well.

Keohane trained as a gastroenterologist in the NHS, and worked for the Medical Research Council. He has been medical director at Eli Lilly, and Vice President R&D and Clinical Science at AstraZeneca. Most recently, he worked at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, where he also held the position of CMO.
