Kurma Partners close diagnostics fund at €50m

The only investment fund dedicated to breakthrough diagnostics, Kurma Diagnostics 2, had its first closing at €50m.

Venture Capital company Kurma Partners SA (Paris/Munich) said the €50m committed to the Kurma Diagnostics Fund 2 (KDx2) will finance 15 companies specialised in the development of disruptive molecular diagnostic tools, smart and connected diagnostic devices or innovations based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). In 2015, Kurma Partner‘s first KDx fund closed at €35m.
   
KDx2 is backed by existing investors such as the European Investment Fund (EIF), the National Seed Fund 2, managed by Bpifrance, and BNP Paribaa, as well as by new investors such as French insurance Groupe VYV, France’s largest health and protection mutual insurance group, and Bedex & Associés, a private investor.
