The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) kicks off its annual European conference in Hamburg with the opportunity for attendees to tour local technology providers’ facilities, discuss the science they’re working on and meet the scientists behind their success. AcCELLerate will feature standardization of cell culture and assay cell bank qualification, global biotechnology company Evotec will introduce its scientists who are committed to advancing drug discovery for medicines that matter, and Fraunhofer ITMP and Revvity will feature a discussion on molecular glues during their sessions. The half-day Technology Provider Showcase tickets include transportation from the Hamburg Convention Center and a late afternoon networking reception on Tuesday, 20 May.
The conference programming and exhibition kicks off on 21 May with opening keynote speaker Jan Baumbach, Ph.D., director of the Institute for Computational Systems Biology at University of Hamburg, who will discuss Privacy-Preserving Systems Medicine for Drug Target Discovery.
Three educational tracks — Advances in Drug Discovery, Advances in Laboratory Automation, and Screening Applications and Diagnostics – will include a wide variety of life sciences topics including multi-omics in drug discovery, sample management, phenotypic screening, automating complex in vitro models, organoid cultures, AI-driven advances in biology, and innovation in minimally invasive diagnostics to round out the scientific program along with poster presentations in the exhibition hall.
On Wednesday, 22 May, closing keynote speaker Carina Ämmälä, Ph.D., Senior Director, Target Discovery Engine at Novo Nordisk, will draw on her extensive experience in diabetes research as well as her more recent work combining biological science with digital technology to enhance the target discovery process.
