The Renewable Materials Conference (RMC) in Siegburg/Cologne (Germany) is the world’s largest conference on chemicals and materials based on biomass, carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) and advanced recycling – the only alternatives to fossil-based chemicals and materials. It covers the entire value chain from alternative carbon feedstocks to the chemical industry, the materials sector, product manufacturers and brand owners, as well as investors and policy makers. The last conference in June 2024 attracted almost 500 participants from 32 countries, 90 % of whom were from industry.
For three days this year, leading speakers from industry, academia and policy will present the latest developments in fossil-free technologies, innovations, policy implications, markets and investments to an international audience of experts. The programme will include 80 presentations, 20 panel discussions and more than ten workshops. Companies, associations and institutes are invited to organise their own workshops and take part in the exhibition.
The five key-topics of this year’s conference are:
- Defossilisation of the Chemical Industry
- Fine Chemicals
- Fossil-free Plastics
- Sustainable Carbon Cycles
- Biodegradation
As in previous years, the on-site live competition for the award “Renewable Material of the Year 2025” will feature the three most innovative solutions in the field.
All in all, the RMC25 will present numerous talks with experts and provide exceptional networking opportunities, a table-top exhibition, poster sessions, as well as workshops on most pressing topics.
The closing dates for abstract submission is 16 March, and 2 May for innovations.
