Sygnis AG: Science and business rolled into one
German-Spanish biotech Sygnis AG has made changes to its management team and supervisory board. Heikki Lanckriet, who was previously Co-CEO, will become sole CEO of Sygnis and will also retain his role as Chief Scientific Officer.
Lanckriet, who holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Ghent, Belgium and a PhD in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK, has developed broad expertise and commercial experience in the Life Science Tools and Reagents area. In 2003, whilst at Cambridge University, he co-founded Expedeon, where he evolved through the roles of COO, CSO and CEO.
Lanckriet has published papers in high impact peer-reviewed international scientific journals and holds a multitude of patents.
