Espoo-based BC Platforms, an international healthcare data provider and software developer, in November has baged an investment of $20m from the Paris-based private equity firm Jolt Capital SAS.

With a focus on pooling and analysing clinically relevant real-world data from biobanks, healthcare providers, medical registries and clinical trials within Europe and Asia, the company’ intends to expand its data pool and secure its position as a leading European provider and enabler of data-driven precision medicine. At least ten of the global pharmaceutical leaders are clients of BCP, and by 2026, data from more than 100 million people are anticipated to be available to them.

In addition to this expansion of medical data, the investment will also hasten the company’s platform’s technological leadership in terms of data protection, data harmonising functions, and federated machine learning, which can quickly provide researchers as well as medics with health-related data. Furthermore, the funding will be utilised to expand BCP’s global sales and marketing activities as well as to invest in its R&D coverage.

BCP’s services can speed up drug development. BCP’s “Trusted Collaboration Environment” is designed to allow healthcare organisations to share data with researchers around the world while adhering to local regulatory and privacy requirements.
