Speedy DNA extraction from buccal swabs & FFPE samples
BioEcho Life Sciences develops innovative products that drastically improve the quality, convenience, and speed of standard molecular protocols. The EchoLUTION technology consists of an efficient and gentle lysis, followed by a unique single-step centrifugation, which provides a reduction of procedural steps compared to conventional kits, and considerably reduces plastic waste.
The EchoLUTION technology from BioEcho relies on a single-step nucleic acid extraction method, different from the bind-wash-elute nucleic acid isolation procedure available on the market. This technology retains impurities, such as cellular debris, and allows the DNA and RNA to pass through the matrix without further interactions. Additionally, BioEcho products reduce the use of hazardous reagents to a minimum. The resulting nucleic acid is free of inhibitors and contaminants, and ready-to-use in downstream applications.
BioEcho has developed two new products reflecting their belief that even the most routine molecular bio-logy protocols can be improved: the EchoLUTION Buccal Swab DNA Kit and the EchoLUTION FFPE DNA Kit. The EchoLUTION Buccal Swab Kit allows you to obtain genomic DNA from human and animal buccal cells through a non-invasive method. The molecular applications are wide: bone marrow and cord blood transplant donors selection, Short Tandem Repeat (STR) and chromosomal analysis, and disease risk assessment, among others. Further, it includes animal genotyping, largely used for pharmacological, biomedicine, and basic research. With the EchoLUTION Buccal Swab DNA Kit, the extraction procedure is five times faster than with standard silica-based kits. Moreover, the high integrity of the extracted nucleic acid provides longer and inhibitor-free DNA suitable for downstream applications such as PCR, sequencing, and STR analysis.
Formalin-fixed-paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue specimens have been essential in therapeutic applications and research for decades. FFPE is a form of preservation and preparation for
biopsy samples that aids in experimental research, drug development, and biomarker investigation, as well as in clinical diagnostic and research (oncology, mutations, and SNPs). The EchoLUTION FFPE DNA Kit offers a competitive advantage with a two-fold faster extraction protocol than silica-based methods. Furthermore, internal verification confirmed that BioEcho provides a superior DNA yield compared to the conventional silica method.
