Forbion raises more than €2bn for two new funds
Dutch Forbion has announced its largest fundraising to date, with Forbion’s Growth Opportunities Fund III raising €1.2bn and Forbion Ventures Fund VII raising €890m.
Naarden-headquartered venture capital specialist Forbion has raised over €2bn across its two new funds for life sciences companies, Forbion Growth Opportunities III and Forbion Ventures VII, bringing assets under management at Forbion to €5bn. Both funds vere oversubscribed reaching €1.2bn and €890m, respectively. It is the largest fundraising of Forbion, even higher than 2023.
The fundraising will allow an increase of both the number of investments and the average size of Forbion’s participation in future portfolio company financings, reflecting the opportunities it sees for superior returns in development-stage life sciences companies. It is anticipated that the Forbion Growth Opportunities Fund III and Forbion Ventures Fund VII will each invest in approximately 15 portfolio companies.
Most recently, Forbion expanded its pharma life sciences focus by a fund investing in bioeconomy.
