Azenta set to acquire B Medical Systems

Further payments of up to €50m may be due upon achievement of certain future performance targets.  Luxembourg-based B Medical is a market leader in temperature-controlled storage and transport solutions that enable the delivery of life-saving care around the world, medical refrigeration and blood management. B Medical is  a leading provider of vaccine cold chain solutions, primarily serving fast-growing markets in emerging markets that require safe and reliable temperature-controlled storage and transport solutions. The portfolio includes vaccine transport systems with real-time monitoring solutions, medical refrigeration solutions for temperatures as low as -86°C and blood management solutions. More than 500,000 units of B Medical are in use in around 150 countries worldwide. A modern, highly automated production facility is located at its headquarters in Luxembourg.
 
With this acquisition, Azenta complements its cold chain solutions with differentiated solutions for the reliable and traceable transport of temperature-sensitive samples. Luc Provost, CEO of B Medical, who has been with the company for over 20 years, and Jesal Doshi, deputy CEO since 2015, are expected to join Azenta and continue to lead B Medical.
