Join a stand-alone in-person course – part of our new European Leadership Program on Industrial Science ELPIS – at DTU from 26-29 January 2026

ANZEIGE

How to innovate and compete through technology in a sustainable future
We are in the midst of a paradigm shift – a transition toward a technology driven biobased and more sustainable society that is set to redefine how we live, what we produce and how we produce it – and consequently how we do business. Technology is driving this development and is taking place across industries, professional disciplines and research fields. It is not the technologies on their own, but the convergence of them that will be a gamechanger by accelerating the pace of product development and innovating entire new products and services.

These technologies include life science and biotechnology, AI, quantum technology, advanced manufacturing and materials, advanced semiconductor technology, robot technology and autonomous systems, advanced sensorial technology, and cybersecurity.

From the way we produce food and make medicine to how we construct buildings, move goods, offer services and power our economies – everything is changing. And the companies that understand how to leverage these converging technologies across industries will be the ones that lead.

This course is designed to put you on the right side of that change
The 4-day in-person course at DTU will equip you with a clear understanding of how these technologies interact and empower each other – and how to use them to build a competitive, sustainable and future-fit business. Importantly, you will also grow as a strategic leader. The course will equip you with tools not only to drive sustainability initiatives – but to embed innovation as a core agenda within your organization. You’ll work alongside peers and experts from across industries to sharpen your thinking and expand your perspective.

Through hands-on learning, masterclasses, panel discussions, excursions and peer collaboration, you will explore how to turn complex challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation. If your ambition is to shape the future – not just react to it -this course will give you the insight, skills and network to lead the way.

Why this course is for you
If you want to position yourself as a strategic force within your organization, someone who drives both growth and sustainability, this course is for you. You will deepen your leadership skills while gaining up-to-date insights into the technologies transforming industries. From breakthroughs in biotechnology, AI and machine learning to chemical engineering, biomanufacturing and data analytics, you will explore how these technologies are converging to build a new industrial era – one where sustainable solutions are not just possible, but often more cost-effective and profitable than petrochemical-based alternatives.

The participants in our ELPIS programme modules will be an interdisciplinary group of 15-20 selected professionals across engineering, STEM and business.

Engineering professionals, STEM specialists and diverse business generalists in a mid- to high-level career role covering both R&D, tech expertise, and marketing and sales roles responsible for driving innovation, discovering new products, services and explore new avenues for convergence of technology across disciplines and industries to strengthen the competitiveness of their company.

Example job titles of potential participants

  • Senior R&D Specialist, Head of R&D, Lead Scientist
  • Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Head of specific IT or Tech areas, Head of Data Management
  • Director of Product, Product Development Manager, Head of Marketing, Head of Sales
  • Founder of a tech startup, Head of a university spinout, Head of a Research Section at university

In their current positions
Participants should play a crucial role in fostering and leading industrial research, business development and innovation, driving technological advancements, and maintaining or strengthening their companies’ competitive edge. As a key leader or responsible in their field, they’re responsible for identifying strategies to secure the future growth of both their domain and organization. They could also be drivers of marketing and sales, requiring them to examine research and technology more in depth, understanding the drivers and prerequisites for new developments.

Access requirements
You can have a solid STEM background from either university or industry research, or many years of experience within an engineering and tech heavy industry. But you could also be a trained business or marketing team leaderor manager with non-STEM background but working closely with STEM colleagues within technology driven solutions, R&D and innovation, and see a need to upskill to be able to work more effectively with leadership for industrial science.

You should have a good overall understanding of the technologies and the research areas relevant to your business area. You should also be eager to broaden your perspective beyond your own discipline, professional background and industry, wishing to explore trends across sectors and technologies, and interested in collaborating with participants in an interdisciplinary manner to discover the next major opportunities in business innovation and how critical technologies are shaping the future of your industry or product. A master’s degree in engineering or business, preferably with a PhD and research experience in academia (Post.doc level) or industry is preferred. An endorsement from a member of your executive management would be advantageous, as it supports the time commitment needed for on-site training.
