Merck: Strategic hike

At the beginning of October, Isabel De Paoli assumed the position of Chief Strategy Officer at German healthcare company Merck GmbH. She will head the Group Strategy and Transformation Function, which has just been created.

De Paoli, who holds both Brazilian and Italian citizenships, joined Merck in 2006 as Business Development Manager and took over as Head of Strategic Planning Oncology in 2009. After being responsible for Group Strategy between 20012 and 2015, she was appointed Head of Communications – a position De Paoli will keep for the time being. Before joining Merck, she had worked for the Boston Consulting Group and Permira.
